AIGA NY Annual Holiday Party
This Sunday the annual AIGA NY holiday party will be held at Pentagram. They're going to auction off pairs of black rubber boots that have been creatively mutilated by designer couples... couldn't make that up if I tried. The real reason to go is to get your hands on the six custom wrapping papers and rolls of tape created for the event by guest designers like Speak Up's Marian Bantjes and ALA's Jason Santa Maria, who talks about his purely type-based design (above) on his website. Sunday's party is free with RSVP.

the couples thing is nauseating. what are we, in high school? but the wrapping paper is cool. and the chance to meet some of those designers, too...
I completely agree.
yep - and I'm not sold on the paper. it reminds me when my dad wrapped our gifts in newspaper - except he knew enough to use the sunday comics section.
