Screenprinting the Octophant
Over at Signal vs. Noise, Phineas X. Jones examines the thought process and practice that went in to creating a four color screenprint he calls The Octophant.
A blend of things seen, read, witnessed, learned...
and that are hopefully helpful/interesting to fellow designers.

The octophant look like it's made of FOUR colors to me :)
Oops, you're right! I've amended the post. This is the second time Jones has screenprinted the Octophant, and the first effort was a three color thing. This most recent version is indeed four colors: "I decided on a medium gray for the octophant’s body, a dullish red for the ring, a semi-transparent white for highlights and modelling (and the “Octophant!” title), and a dark gray for the actual drawing," says Jones.
