Are Designers The Enemy Of Design?

Are Designers The Enemy of Design?, an article by Business Week's Bruce Nussbaum, deals with the backlash against design, sustainability in design, and the shifts in meaning and practice that are occurring and need to occur across industries. Very interesting. [via 37signals]

I read Nussbaum's piece and while it was interesting, I have to say that his spelling and grammar suck!

I enjoy the informality of the blog template a lot, but I also expect the writing to be better than a seventh grader's.

GraphicDesignBar's writing is great, BTW.

Yeah... and he gets the big bucks, too. Sigh.

Meanwhile, thanks! I'm a writer/editor as well as a designer, though, so I'm a picky reader and a picky poster. And, blasphemously, I do like to read. Designers are supposed to be able to deliver in powerhouse soundbytes but I'd much rather read/write a paragraph of info about something than have just a link and a blurb of inane commentary (ex. "OMG me likey!").

They say content is the next great online frontier, so... fingers crossed for better writing everywhere.
Cheers,
Kate
