Metro Bits showcases the art and architecture of subway systems around the world, providing nice resource links and details about designers and typefaces. New York's is among the featured systems, and while our aging beast certainly isn't as flash as the modern wonderlands built more recently in other cities, we've at least got a century's worth of public art.
